My hope is that you will find this website helpful in learning about my counseling services for yourself or for someone you know who needs support.
The foundation of my counseling approach is in a strong therapeutic relationship. When in a safe and warm environment, it can be easier to explore and make changes in your life. With this is in mind, I integrate the art and science of psychological treatment, and tailor treatment specifically to you. Every person is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all counseling method. I consider your needs, strengths, and values, and collaborate with you to help you realize your goals.
My collaborative strength-based approach incorporates elements from cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, experiential, and mindfulness perspectives. I have helped clients struggling with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorder. Additionally I have experience in treating trauma, grief, life transitions, performance anxiety, minor disordered eating, and family/relationship concerns. I have special interest in diversity issues, including racial identity development, GLBT concerns, as well as both women’s and men’s issues. I enjoy working with individuals, groups, and couples, and offer stress relief workshops.
I earned my Ph.D from the APA-accredited Indiana University Counseling Psychology Program. I am a Kentucky state Licensed Psychologist, as well as an Indiana state Licensed Psychologist with a Health Service Provider in Psychology endorsement. I have been providing psychotherapy for nine years, and have taught psychology classes at both the undergraduate and graduate level. I was employed as a therapist at the Indiana University Counseling and Psychological Services, where I provide counseling services for undergraduate and graduate students, until I began my private practice in the Bloomington, IN community. Recently my family and I have relocated to beautiful Louisville, KY.
